A hand painted sign welcomes us to Paradise Valley. The last businesses were finally pushed out
by the building of a football stadium over the northwest corner of Paradise Valley. These pictures
show the stadium still being constructed.

Another interesting book on Paradise Valley is
Paradise Valley Days by the Detroit Black Writers Guild.
This is a collection of pictures, news paper articles, and poems which gives more of a "slice of life" of what
it was to live in Paradise Valley. Most books of poems seem relevant only to themselves, but this book finally
showed me how it was supposed to be. Dancers shimmying and men in Zoot suits crossing the street. Shoe shine boys earning
$100 a week shining the shoes of the Purple Gang.
