Happy Birthday Detroit!
After a year of our celebrating Detroit's rich history (Detroit 300th birthday!),
the Ford Stadium builders demolished the last Club in Paradise Valley
in order to improve the sight lines to their stadium.
The Free Press reported that the Detroit City Council had granted the Club a temporary historic designation, but the
designation ran out on Dec 31 2001. The Ford Stadium group moved fast to destroy the club on Christmas break
when no one was around. You can read this and other stories in more detail by visiting the
Detroit Free Press search engine and typing "Paradise Valley".
